For People Who Want to Be Confirmed

1. Every baptized person not yet confirmed can and should receive the sacrament of Confirmation.
2. In the diocese of Wichita the sacrament of Confirmation should ordinarily take place during 6th or 7th grade.
3. Adults who have not been confirmed should reach out to the office to learn more.

Sponsors for Confirmation

1. Sponsors must be at least sixteen (16) years old.
2. Sponsors must be a Catholic who has been baptized, confirmed, made their first confession and received the Holy Eucharist.
3. Sponsors must demonstrate a life of harmony with the faith and the role to be undertaken.
4. Sponsors, if married, must be married in the Catholic Church (i.e., not only civilly).
5. The mother, father, adoptive or foster parent of the candidate for Confirmation may not serve as sponsor.
